A few photos from the process of creating my new doll.
During the making of this girl, many elements were changed — I updated some parts, and after many attempts, I finally figured out how to crochet accurate palms with fingers.
This time, I wanted to make shoulder connections with pins and washers. It’s a bit harder to crochet, but the result and movement are much better than when I used to connect the arms to the finished body with thread.
The head has a crocheted ball joint inside, so it can move in different directions — it makes the doll look and feel more alive, and I adore that!
I also made the irises from glass seed beads — I love beads!
There will be more of them for her later.
She’s still a work in progress!
For the shoulder joints, I use these pins and washers:
Links for pins and washers, just in case:

First, I inserted the pins through the washers and the arm piece, then finished crocheting the arm. While making the body, I attached the arms, adding small crochet circles between the body and washers, and twisted the pin ends with pliers.
Crochet circle pattern: 1 round: 6 sc in MR, 2 round: 6*inc.
